If the answer to more than two of those questions is yes, then a Barcelona Hen Do is an option that you should definitely be considering! It’s got all of those aspects and loads more going for it – after all, there must be a reason that it’s one of our most booked European hen do destinations every year.
With average temperatures in the summer months reaching 29 degrees Celsius, and ten or more hours of sunshine, a hen weekend in Barcelona gives you the chance to not only enjoy the more traditional aspects of a hen party, but also allows you to feel like you are on a proper summer holiday at the same time – allowing you to get a lovely bronze tan between drinks – which is every girl’s dream.
This is always a practical question when booking a hen do that requires you to travel abroad. Luckily, Barcelona is easily accessible from most UK airports, and the flights are usually a very reasonable price indeed. This is one of the advantages of Barcelona being such a popular tourist destination for all types of holiday, as the city is easy to get to no matter where you are coming from. With most Barcelona Hen Do packages also including airport transfers, you won’t have to worry about a thing once you’ve got on the plane at the UK end, as everything else will be taken care of for you.
As with most destinations, you have loads of choice for what type of accommodation you can stay in on your Barcelona Hen Do. Our most popular option (and the one that comes most highly recommended) is to stay in some of the cities well located and comfortable apartments. These are perfect for hen groups, as they give you a bit of living space as well as beds to sleep in, and often have swimming pools and other facilities on site as well.
Alternatively, hotels are also an option, with everything from basic, great value rooms to some of the most luxurious places you’ve ever visited all available to you. Where to start with this! This city has a great selection of activities available, so no matter how busy or quiet you want your Barcelona Hen Do to be, it can be tailored to suit exactly what you want. For some groups, they like to have a few things to do – whether that’s learning a new skill at the Spanish Cooking Experience (where the paella you make will be out of this world), or taking to the seas in a Catamaran Cruise (which is one of the most popular things that we offer), these and many more activities are easily bookable and can be scheduled in for any time of the day that suits you.
However, for some Barcelona Hen Dos, we do find that they don’t want to have anything pre-planned during the day – being content to simply shop, lunch and relax on the beach – and that’s a perfectly brilliant option (especially since, as I’m typing this, it is cold and raining here in the UK.) Though if relaxation is your primary aim, then I’d be a fool not to at least mention to you that the Arabic Spa is unique to Barcelona and will give you ninety luxurious minutes including a thermal bath, aromatherapy and a relaxation massage – so if you think you were relaxed before, you’ll be even more relaxed by the time you leave!
After a day of relaxation (or whatever else you end up choosing to do), you want the night out for your Barcelona Hen Do to be absolutely epic. Luckily for you, the nightlife in Barcelona is some of the best that you will ever experience. As is often the way with European Hen Dos, we do recommend booking a guided bar crawl on your first night – these can be brilliant to help show you all the best places to drink, and they usually involve a free drink or three as well, which is always welcome!
If you want to incorporate some planned activities into your evening out, then Barcelona has plenty of these available to you as well. For that real Spanish flavour, why not try the Tapas and Flamenco Evening – after all, you need to eat before you go out anyway, why not do so while being entertained by some of the most talented and passionate Flamenco dancers you’ve ever seen, and did I mention the meal comes with unlimited Sangria as well?
Once you’ve got yourselves ready and want to head out to explore the best drinking establishments in the city, you’ll find that Barcelona has everything you’ve ever wanted for a night out. Pubs, bars, clubs and more are available all night long, so don’t feel you have to rush to get from one place to the next, there’s always somewhere else open for you to have a drink when you’ve finished in the bar you are currently in. You’ll soon find that you’ve partied the night away – and you’ll be dying to do it again the next night, and the next. After all, isn’t that what a Barcelona Hen Do is all about?
